In 2018 the Company founder, Alan Propp and his wife Tawnya, purchased German Imports Car Care from the original owner. German Imports had been in business at the same location for over 30 years. It was a humble beginning. Alan ran the front of the business and had two, highly skilled technicians service primarily German vehicles.
Since then, Alan and Tawnya have expanded rapidly. The first step was to expand the original shop by buying an adjoining business. That shop now has four technicians and one or two advisors up front. They then purchased shops in Denver, just north of downtown, Greeley and most recently Aurora. They now v with twenty employees.
Team
Each location has an ASE Master technician who serves as the shop foreman, ensuring the highest quality repairs are implemented on every vehicle. Alan and Tawnya also employ highly experienced service advisors who are friendly and welcoming to customers, knowledgeable about vehicle repair, and expert at operating the software systems necessary to efficiently estimate repairs, order parts and communicate with customers.
Alan, who serves as the company CEO, recognized the need for additional staff to manage the growing company. In the fall of 2023, he hired an industry veteran, Kermit Pridemore, to serve as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Kermit comes from a long lineage of auto repair shop executives, and brings to the table many years of experience in leading multi-shop automotive repair and maintenance operations. He has been instrumental in Harmony/German Imports recent growth.
Kermit’s focus includes the following three areas:
- Ensuring our customers are receiving best in class service
- Ensuring our associates feel empowered to do their best and have happy, fulfilling careers, and
- Ensuring the company is operating in a highly efficient and effective manner
